the story of living well

The living well counseling center opened in February 2014. Living well provides resources, training, and support for expatriate workers living and working in Cambodia to promote well-being. Our center has English and Korean speaking clinical and pastoral counselors. Since 2014, the center has grown to provide services to people and organizations in Phnom Penh and beyond, with a growing list of member partners and opportunities to reach beyond its borders.  

Living well is embarking upon a new season in our development as an organization and consequently we are seeking a Director of Operations. The Director of Operations will co-lead living well into the next phase of our strategic plan, alongside our Director of Services.  To ensure our success, it is critical that the Director of Operations endeavors to work collaboratively, transparently and humbly in partnership with the Director of Services and the remainder of the living well team and Board.

Tenure: Commitment of three years

Hours:                 2-3 days per week as required

Reports to:         living well Board

Direct reports:   Office Manager and administrative staff team

Position Purpose

To co-lead living well as a provider of quality counseling and member care services within Cambodia. The primary responsibility is to develop and maintain strong business operations and systems in conjunction with the Director of Services and be a face of living well within relevant networks in Cambodia and beyond.

Essential qualifications

  • A committed Christian living out their faith with humility and integrity

  • Experience in senior management, with proven experience managing complex tasks

  • Experience in developing financial systems, overseeing financial procedures, budget management and government reporting 

  • Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills

  • Tertiary qualifications in relevant field such as finance, business management, etc.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

  • Experience living and working/studying cross-culturally for at least two years

Desirable qualifications

  • Significant business administration experience

  • Experience in business development and strategic planning

  • Experience working within a small start-up environment

  • Language skills in Khmer or language other than English

  • Experience accessing counseling services (understanding the nature and need for living well’s core services)

Please be aware that this is not a salaried position, however, a stipend benefits package can be negotiated based on individual need.
